Two college students with Georgia ties were awarded scholarship assistance for graduate studies through the Dennis R. Washington Achievement Graduate Scholarship.
The winners:
•Amanda Lintelman of Emory University;
•Jessaca York of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, who is from metro Atlanta.
The recipients were announced Dec. 17.
The scholarships are awarded through Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans Inc., a nonprofit educational organization. Funded by the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation, the Dennis R. Washington scholarship provides up to $90,000 to former recipients of Horatio Alger national and state scholarships.
York plans to obtain doctor of dental medicine and master of public health degrees. Lintelman plans to pursue her MBA at Emory.
