A volunteer coach at McNair High School was dismissed Monday and could face sexual assault charges.

DeKalb County School District officials said in a statement today that police obtained an arrest warrant for Ronald Wright after an investigation into claims he had behaved inappropriately with a student.

According to a redacted incident report, a female student told police Wright rubbed muscle cream on her inner thighs Friday. When it began to burn, she asked him for soap and proceeded to take a shower. She said Wright came into the shower with her while she was naked to give her the soap. According to the report, she said she was still partially nude when Wright reappeared in the locker room, adjusting her bra straps as she prepared to leave. She told her mother when she got home.

The teen’s name is not being released because she is a minor and possible sexual assault victim.

Wright was a volunteer coach at McNair High until he was dismissed by the district Monday. He served several years as a volunteer athletics manager for the district. District officials would not confirm the nature of the incident in which Wright was alleged to be involved.

“We take seriously all allegations of improper or inappropriate behavior toward students,” the district said in a statement. “The health and safety of our students is our most important priority.”
