Three teachers have been named finalists for 2014-15 Atlanta Public Schools Teacher of the year.
The nominees are:
- Elementary School Teacher of the Year Kesha Payne. Payne is a third grade teacher at Warren T. Jackson Elementary School.
- Middle School Teacher of the Year Barry Blackmon. Blackmon is a sixth grade English language arts and social studies teacher at the B.E.S.T. Academy at Benjamin S. Carson Middle School.
- High School Teacher of the Year Jayongela Wilder. Wilder is a drama teacher at Carver High School of The Arts.
The winner will be named during an awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 16 at the The Loudermilk Center, 40 Courtland St, NE.
