Republican Bob McClure has beaten Democrat Zachary Rushing to take the District 4 seat on the Gwinnett County school board.
Results from Tuesday's election show McClure, the incumbent, received 59 percent of votes over Rushing's 41 percent.
McClure joined the school board in January 1995. His electoral district includes all or parts of Berkmar, Brookwood, Grayson, Meadowcreek, Parkview, Shiloh and South Gwinnett clusters. McClure, a Lilburn resident, is a physician. He was re-elected in November 2010.
The largest school district in the state, Gwinnett has more than 173,000 students.
