Fulton has most top scorers on the ACT, but Gwinnett has number one

The best performing school in Georgia on the ACT test is Gwinnett County’s School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology.

The class of 2016 there averaged 28.7 points on all subjects, the highest average composite score in the state, according to results released today by the Georgia Department of Education. Gwinnett had one other school in the top 10, North Gwinnett High.

Fulton County had the most in the top 10, with five schools. There, Northview High had the second highest score in the state, a 27.2, with Johns Creek High in third overall, and Chattahoochee and Alpharetta high schools in fifth and sixth.

Cobb County had one school in the top 10, Walton High, with the state’s fourth highest score. Muscogee and Fayette counties rounded out the top 10 with schools at eighth and ninth respectively —Columbus High in Muscogee and McIntosh High in Fayette.
