Film producer and director Lee Daniels will deliver Saturday’s commencement address at Savannah College of Art and Design.
The ceremony is the first fall commencement for SCAD, which operates on a quarterly academic calendar. More than 370 graduates will receive diplomas during the ceremony to be held at the Savannah Civic Center’s Johnny Mercer Theatre, 301 W. Oglethorpe Ave.
Daniels’ film credits include production of 2001’s “Monster’s Ball” and 2004’s “The Woodsman.” He also director 2009’s critically acclaimed, “Precious,” and “The Butler,” released earlier this year.
Daniels will also be awarded an honorary doctorate from the college. The ceremony begins at 9 a.m.
