An 11-week old puppy is recovering after a blow from its owner’s boyfriend seriously injured its back leg.
Nakeim Worthy, 29, of Norcross, allegedly kicked the pitbull puppy on Wednesday in the Norcross apartment he and his girlfriend shared, Channel 2 reported.
The puppy, who is named Aura, had to have surgery because of the incident, Gwinnett County spokesperson Heather Sawyer said. She is currently recovering in the care of the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter.
Worthy was arrested on one account of aggravated cruelty to animals by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. He’s in the Gwinnett County Jail on a $22,200 bond, according to jail records.
