Two Douglas County inmates who escaped Thursday from work detail on Post Road are still on the loose, Douglas County police said Friday.

An investigation Thursday night discovered that the two men stole a vehicle from the Post Road Park and Ride and were not picked up by an accomplice as previously thought, police said.

Kenneth Judson Long and Coleman D. Manessa were working lawn maintenance on Post Road when they found an older model tan or gold Crown Victoria with the keys still in it and used the car to make their escape.

Long and Manessa are non-violent inmates, both arrested on charges of burglary, theft by taking and theft by receiving stolen property, authorities said.

The two were wearing blue jail uniforms with orange stripes. Any information on the escapees should be reported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 770-949-5656.
