The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office Friday confirmed a body pulled Thursday morning from the Chattahoochee River is that of a missing Sandy Springs man.

James “Gary” Morris, 71, was last seen Dec. 3 at his home. The following day, his vehicle was found in Roswell at a park near the river.

Police had issued a Mattie's Call alert to help find Morris, who has a history of depression and other medical conditions. Rescuers searched the river for several days, but were unsuccessful.

Around 11 a.m. Thursday, fishermen found the body near the floating dock at Overlook Park off Morgan Falls Road, Capt. Steve Rose with Sandy Springs police said.
