Presumptive Democratic White House nominee Joe Biden launched his first major television ad campaign of the general election Thursday, a $15 million, five-week blitz in six battleground states that President Donald Trump won in 2016.

The campaign, according to The Associated Press, includes TV and digital ads in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Florida and Arizona.

The campaign is also placing Spanish-language ads in Florida and Arizona and will put an emphasis on African American print and radio outlets starting Friday, which is Juneteenth.

The media buy follows Biden’s latest fundraising report, which shows he pulled in $81 million for his election effort in May. On Monday, Biden broke his own single-event record by taking in $6 million during an online fundraiser with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a former primary campaign rival, that was attended by more than 600 people.

The ads are titled “Unite Us” and “My Commitment.”

The $80.8 million Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised in May is his biggest cash take yet. Trump and the Republican National Committee have not yet released their numbers for the month.

Trump enjoys a massive cash-on-hand advantage and was sitting on more than $250 million. But he has also spent big on national advertising that has yet to dent Biden’s standing in public opinion polls.

In April, Trump and the Republican National Committee barely edged Biden, taking in $61.7 million, compared with the $60 million Biden raised with the DNC.

Biden’s campaign also says it has benefited from a fundraising surge to progressive groups during the recent civil unrest.
