Beginning this week, the Johns Creek Arts Center is launching a new program in adaptive arts for exceptional children. Led by Amanda Jones, the program offers two age groups, second through fifth grade and sixth through eighth grade, the opportunity to explore painting, collage, polymer clay manipulation, and other hands-on mediums.

Classes are small, with a maximum of four to six students, and taught by a qualified, supportive instructor. Parents, caregivers and support persons remain onsite and are welcome to participate as necessary.

The six-week course meets for younger students 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday evenings and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings for the older group at the Johns Creek Arts Center, 6290 Abbotts Bridge Rd., Bldg. 700.
