Imagine receiving a text message from your fiance telling you it's time to call it quits.
Most people would be outraged and extremely disappointed.
But for one Tampa woman, it was liberating.
Kilee Manulak said she went numb when she received a text from her fiance of two years that said he wanted to call off the wedding, the same week it was supposed to happen, WFLA reports.
“My maid of honor, my mom and all my friends helped me. I was just so devastated,” she said.
But that devastation didn’t last long. Manulak and her bridesmaids decided to join the festivities at the Color Fun Fest 5K in Tampa, Florida. And they went dressed in their gowns. During the race, participants run through stations where they are sprayed with different colored powder.
“It was actually very liberating,” she said. “I don’t want a pity party. I just want to have fun with it.”
Manulak even got on the stage -- something she said she would’ve never done had she gotten married.
“I wanted to keep my dress. I (just) wanted to maybe alter it or do something new to it. But I definitely didn’t want to destroy it,” she said.
Manulak said she wishes her ex-fiance the best.
“I definitely want to tell him thank you for sparing me heartaches down the road and thank you for letting me go so I can find true happiness,” Manulak said.
