Best Bites: Byron’s Fully Cooked Pork BBQ, coconut oil Pam

Byron’s Fully Cooked Pork BBQ

If you have a big family to feed and want an easy, crowd-pleasing meal, Byron’s Fully Cooked Pork BBQ is perfect. We warmed ours in the oven and made about a dozen pulled-pork sandwiches out of it. The pork is cooked perfectly with a slight smoky flavor and the sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness. Your family will think you spent all day cooking it —or maybe that your ordered it from a barbecue restaurant. You can use it, as we did, for sandwiches or use the meat in tacos, on a pizza or a baked potato.

Pam coconut oil cooking spray

Coconut oil is being pushed as a healthy alternative to other oils these days, and it has grown so popular that the good folks at Pam have created a nonstick cooking spray using it. It does impart a faint but noticeable coconut flavor, so it is not appropriate for all applications, but it would add a little something to, say, some Asian stir-fries or curries. And sprayed on a baking sheet, it would give a little extra flair to the right sort of cookie.
