History: The Atlanta Children's Shelter helps homeless parents move toward economic stability and helps homeless children from birth through kindergarten achieve developmental milestones. Nearly 5,000 families have come through the doors of the shelter since it was started by the Junior League of Atlanta more than three decades ago.

Did you know: ACS provides homeless children in Atlanta (ages 6 weeks to 5 years old) free early childhood education, meals and more while their parents received the tools and training needed to transition from homelessness. Once homeless families achieve self-sufficiency, ACS provides ongoing support to these families for at least one year.

Motto: "To break the cycle of poverty for families facing homelessness by building pathways to long-term self-sufficiency, and providing quality early childhood education."

How can you help: Help is needed in classrooms, organizing donations and in other administrative and event support. ACS also needs financial donations, household items, gift cards, clothes and food.
