Southwest Airlines said it is joining the Transportation Security Administration’s two-year-old trusted traveler program known as PreCheck.
Dallas-based Southwest said “select” frequent flier members will be invited to opt into the PreCheck program. Those selected to use PreCheck lanes get an expedited screening process that allows travelers to leave their shoes, jackets and belts on, and keep laptops and liquids in bags. Delta Air Lines and other major carriers have already joined PreCheck, with dedicated lanes at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
