A follow-up safety inspection after a 2010 fatality at a Georgia manufacturer led the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to fine Don Park USA of Conley $81,180.
OSHA cited the company for 16 health and safety violations, such as failures to protect employees from live electrical parts. An employee was crushed there 18 months ago by a heavy metal frame.
“Don Park management repeatedly has demonstrated a disregard for employees’ safety by failing to correct workplace hazards that previously were brought to its attention,” said Bill Fulcher, director of OSHA’s Atlanta-East Area Office. “Employers are responsible for ensuring that their employees have a safe and healthful work environment.”
Conley-based Don Park performs sheet metal work for air conditioning ducts and air distribution systems.
