What's up? Nothin' but the rent.
That is, Atlanta rents have continued to edge up – increasing by 0.5 percent last month and by 5.3 percent during the past year, according to a report issued by Apartment List.
The city of Atlanta has the highest rents in the metro region, followed by Alpharetta.
One-bedroom apartments in Atlanta have a median rent of $1,380 a month. Two-bedroom apartment have a median rent of $1,710, according to Apartment List.
The most expensive in-town neighborhood is Midtown, where the median for a two-bedroom apartment is $2,370, followed by the north side of Buckhead, where two-bedrooms are $2,240.
But those rents were not rising anywhere near as fast as in Inman Park where rents rose 14.3 percent since last summer. A two-bedroom in Inman Park rents for a median price of $2,020.
Elsewhere in the metro area, median rents for a two-bedroom apartment:
Alpharetta, $1,400.
Duluth, $1,210.
Marietta, $1,010.
