BET’s “Tiny & Toya,” a reality show shot here in Atlanta, has been given the green light for a second season.

The show, which featured the lives of rap star T.I.'s squeeze and former Xscape singer Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and fellow rapper Lil Wayne's ex-wife Antonia "Toya" Carter, averaged 1.9 million viewers over eight episodes this past summer.

Tiny came across as sweet and truly pained by T.I.’s entry into jail for weapons possession. For years, T.I. had encouraged Tiny to just raise the kids. She is now attempting to restart her music career and open a nail salon.

Toya struggled to move on after her divorce with Lil Wayne. In the last episode, she went on a promising blind date. She also had to grapple with a drug-addicted mom in New Orleans.

The Tiny & Toya Show

  • Definitely worth bringing back for more
  • I get more entertainment biting my fingernails

Overall, the show lacked the ridiculous absurdist drama of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” but the pair came across as warm and likable. Ratings were clearly good enough to merit a second season.

When the show starts production again and when it will air has not been determined.
