Virginia Tech will not surrender the 20th letter of the alphabet without a challenge.

With Georgia Tech fans on their way for Saturday’s Tech-Tech matchup, the school has evidently posted a watchman to protect a particular letter in a sign outside Lane Stadium. A Georgia Tech school tradition is for students to abscond with the “T” atop Tech Tower, a rite that has spread to the theft of less iconic T’s. A tweet from Roanoke (Va.) Times writer Andy Bitter, who covers the Hokies, provided the visual.

According to Bitter, who may have a future as a crime reporter, the T in the Lane Stadium sign has also gone missing when the Jackets played there in 2012 and 2014.
