1. Patrick Peterson, LSU, 6-feet, 219 pounds: ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper believes that Peterson will join Darrelle Revis of the Jets and Nnamdi Asomugha of the Raiders as one of the NFL's few "shut down" cornerbacks. Teams like his ability to knock receivers off their routes.
2. Prince Amukamara, Nebraska, 6-0, 205: He was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe award, which goes to the nation's top defensive back. He was the Big 12 defensive player of the year.
3. Jimmy Smith, Colorado, 6-2, 210: Teams stayed away from his side of the field last season. In 12 games, the opposition threw only 20 passes at Smith while he was in man-to-man coverage.
4. Aaron Williams, Texas, 6-0, 205: Some teams view him as a safety. He's strong in run support and led the Longhorns with 13 pass breakups last season.
5. Brandon Harris, Miami, 5-10, 191: He started all 13 games for the Hurricanes last season and led the team with 10 pass breakups. The Falcons have heavily scouted Harris.
6. Johnny Patrick, Louisville, 5-10, 191: He started 41 games and had eight interceptions over his career with the Cardinals.
7. Marcus Gilchrist, Clemson, 5-10, 195: He played mostly corner for the Tigers, but some NFL teams believe he's a better safety because of his tackling ability. He also averaged 25.3 yards on kickoff returns last season.
8. Rahim Moore, UCLA, 5-11, 202: He made first-team all-Pac 10 as a sophomore and a junior. He started 37 games and had 14 interceptions over his three-year career with the Bruins.
9. DeMarcus Van Dyke, Miami, 6-0, 178: He had an up-and-down career for the Hurricanes after starting eight games as a freshman. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.25 seconds at the combine.
10. Buster Skrine, Tennessee-Chattanooga, 5-9, 185: The Etowah High product was selected first-team All-Southern Conference in each of the past two seasons. He's a physical player with great leaping ability. He had 155 tackles, 21 pass breakups and five interceptions in his career.
