A brief recap of the Hawks’ bludgeoning of the Sacramento Kings on Monday night at Philips Arena:

How the game was won: Kyle Korver snapped out of a slide with six 3-pointers and DeMarre Carroll added four from beyond the arc as the Hawks (50-13) made a franchise-record 20 3-pointers in gunning down the Kings (21-41).

Korver and Carroll each scored 20 points, and the Hawks scored season highs of 43 points in the second quarter and 76 points in the first half.

Atlanta led 70-56 at halftime on the strength of 12-of-19 shooting from beyond the arc. The Hawks made 53 of 88 shots (60.2 percent) overall, and 20 of 36 3-pointers (57.1 percent) to win for the seventh time in eight games.

Turning point: Korver's back-to-back long jumpers broke a tie at 7 in the first quarter, and gave Atlanta a lead it never lost.

Number: 42. Jeff Teague had 18 points and 13 assists as the Hawks registered a season-high 42 assists — the highest total in an NBA game this season by any team.

Next: The Hawks will launch their longest trip of the season, a 10-day, six-game odyssey of games played exclusively against units from the Western Conference. First, a contest Wednesday at the Denver Nuggets.
