Manager Fredi Gonzalez said the Braves wouldn’t announce Gavin Floyd’s role until the pitcher was activated from the disabled list Sunday, but there was a possible indication the veteran starter could be headed to the bullpen for the time being.

That came when Gonzalez reiterated that he hasn’t talked to Braves officials about an innings limit this season for Alex Wood and made it seem all but certain the young left-hander would not be moving from the rotation to open a spot for Floyd. At least not for now.

“Maybe another month from now you put (Wood) in the bullpen for a month or a couple of weeks to slow him down a little bit,” Gonzalez said, referring to Wood’s innings total. “But right now I’m not even thinking about that.”
