There are tons of Memorial Day weekend events to attend, and the Atlanta Jazz Festival is one of them.

The event, which takes place May 26-27, is making its way back to Piedmont Park for its 41st anniversary. This year, Dianne Reeves and Matthew Whitaker are among the many artists taking the stage.

Along with the music, people will also be able to munch on yummy foods and visit the Artist Market to scout all types of unique and collectible artwork.

But before you head to the big bash, there are few things you should know, including what you can and can’t take to the park. Take a look at the list below to make sure you’re prepared.

Can I bring outside food?

Yes, outside food is welcome. However, grilling is not allowed and all food and drinks must be in plastic containers. Glass is prohibited.

What about my pets?

No, pets are not allowed, whether they are leashed or not. The Piedmont Park Dog Park will still remain open though.

Are tents allowed?

Yes, you can bring your tents. However, they can be no larger than 10’ by 10’. If they are larger than 10’ by 10’, you must receive written permission from the Department of Parks and Recreation.

Additionally, tents cannot be staked into the ground to secure them, but sandbags are a good, safe option.

Can I bike or skate in the park?

No, you cannot use your bike, motorized vehicles, skates or skateboard in the park during event hours.

How about music? Can I play my tunes on portable radios?

No, you can’t play music on any portable radios, musical instruments or similar devices, unless it is a part of the event programming.

Can I smoke?

No. Smoking in public parks is banned. This includes inhaling, exhaling, burning or carrying tobacco products, such as cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco.

What else should I know?

There can be no solicitation. You cannot pass out any flyers or sale any activities without written permission.

If you happen to misplace anything, there is a lost and found tent located at the Main State backstage entrance.
