A Cobb County location of a popular Atlanta pizza chain failed its recent health inspection.

The Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint at 4104 Roswell Road scored a 61/U on its March 23 health check. Any score 69 or below is considered failing.

The chain has dozens of locations throughout the country.

The inspector found mostly paperwork issues but also identified that the dishwasher was not properly disinfecting dishes and food was being kept at the wrong temperatures.

Containers of salad dressing did not have labels with dates of when to discard them, according to the report.

The inspector also mentioned in the report a dent in the back door that could let in pests.

Store manager Ashley Leigh can explain that one.

She told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday that someone recently broke into the restaurant through that door before stealing their safe and computers and other items from the office.

Since the inspection, they’ve gotten a new door.

“Everything else was little things,” said Leigh.

She is confident that the restaurant is ready for a re-inspection, which are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
