A Cobb County man is accused of using the internet to arrange a sexual encounter with an undercover cop he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Omar Vazquez was charged with one count of using a computer, wireless service or internet service for child exploitation for his alleged actions Marietta police say began July 4, 2018, and ended April 3 of this year.

According to Cobb County arrest warrant, Vazquez began talking with an undercover cop posing as a 14-year-old girl from Marietta on an adult dating site. Vazquez was told multiple times that the girl was 14, and he was “scared he was being set up by law enforcement,” according to the warrant.

However, Vazquez continued to talk to the girl, and he “expressed a sexual interest in the child,” the warrant adds. He requested to meet with the girl for the purposes of sexual intercourse, and sent her lewd photos and video of himself, police say.
