Quince T. Brinkley Jr. has been named executive director of the Westside Future Fund, an organization created last year by Mayor Kasim Reed and a group of local CEOs to revitalize communities on Atlanta’s west side.
Brinkley, who begins mid-July, returns to Atlanta after serving as Vice President of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. He previously worked for both the Georgia Housing Finance Authority and the Urban Residential Development Corporation in Atlanta. Westside Future Fund leaders tout his experience in developing affordable housing as key to its mission.
“The WFF is dedicated to help revitalize the Westside with jobs, housing and education for thousands of area residents, and Quince is the executive director we need to lead us,” Richard J. Dugas, Jr., chairman of the WFF and CEO of PulteGroup, Inc. said in a statement. “His skill set and values are perfect for our endeavor. He is a proven leader in community development, community outreach, housing finance and the use of public/private partnerships.”
The organization is focusing its efforts on neighborhood including Vine City, English Avenue, Castleberry Hill, Ashview Heights and the Atlanta University Center area. WFF works in partnership with the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and Invest Atlanta, the city’s economic development agency, which each dedicated $15 million to west side communities as part of the deal to help partially finance the future $1.4 billion Atlanta Falcons stadium.
