In order to expand local transit options, Gwinnett County would likely need residents to support a news sales tax to pay for it.
And, if early surveys are any indication, finding that buy-in may not be that big of a hurdle.

Gwinnett launched its transit development planning study earlier this year, the goal being to determine what might be the county's most feasible short-, medium- and long-term transit options.
There is a lot more work to be done and a lot more public input to gather, including a scientific poll, officials said. But the first round of public surveys took input from 3,674 county residents — and about 65 percent of them said they would “strongly support” or “somewhat support” a new sales tax to fund transit expansion.
