Comedian Katt Williams again is drawing attention of law enforcement, this time over actions captured in a video that has gone viral.

Williams’ apparent punching of and wrestling with a youth “are currently under investigation,” Gainesville police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Thursday.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Williams, a Hall County resident, is seen in the confrontation with a youth at Melrose Apartments on Davis Street in Gainesville. The video is believed to have been filmed Tuesday, Holbrook said.

Gainesville police have received no reports of the incident; they first learned of it through social media. Holbrook said routine police patrols were in the area of the apartments when the incident happened, but left on a service call. The Williams video incident happened while that patrol was gone.

Holbrook said the investigation will involve interviewing witnesses in the community. He is not sure if officers have contacted Williams yet.

The comedian has had several run-ins with the law lately, twice in Hall County and once in Atlanta. After he bonded out of Fulton County Jail earlier in March, Williams said, “I am just like most Christians, under daily attack, but somehow holding up well.”
