Starting Monday, residents at least 65 years of age will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Georgia Public Health District 2, according to a Forsyth County announcement.

So far, the vaccine has been available to health care providers, such as hospital staff, long-term care facility staff and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel.

“Beginning (Monday) Jan. 11, adults 65 years of age and older, law enforcement and fire personnel will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine based on vaccine availability” in District 2, which covers 13 counties northeast of Atlanta, Forsyth said.

“Residents are encouraged to monitor the District 2 Public Health website (http://phdistrict2.org/) and Facebook page (https://bit.ly/3rZDHNa) for announcements regarding COVID-19 vaccine availability and testing,” Forsyth said. Information: https://bit.ly/3s2OwOG
