Another Dunkin’ is set to join an existing store on Moreland Ave. this fall, but it won’t be another stand-alone, drive-thru spot.

What Now Atlanta reported, Platinum Donuts LLC, a family-run franchising organization based in Georgia, is planning the new store, which joins their other franchise at 30 Moreland Ave.

Platinum Donuts LLC co-owner Shamran Kurani told What Now Atlanta that the new shop, which will be located at 1250 Moreland Ave. SE, is a“next-generation Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins combination concept.” The 1,200 square-foot shop will be like another combo store that opened in Westside Village earlier this month.

That store, which Platinum Donuts LLC is not behind, includes a tap system for cold drinks and a drive-thru lane for DD Perks members who placed orders on the mobile app to head straight to the pickup window and bypass non-members, according to What Now Atlanta.

Plans are in place to renovate the existing 30 Moreland Ave. Dunkin’ to add a patio and reopen the drive-thru lanes, for which Special Land Use Permits are being sought.

Customers won’t have to wait long to see construction begin on the new operation, which will happen in May or June. Then, the store will open in October or November.

“We are a family operation and you’ll see us in the restaurant every now again and we’ll even ask you if you’ll have cream or sugar,” said franchisee co-owner Kurani, whose group also owns eight other Dunkin’/Baskin-Robbins combo stores and three other Dunkin’-only shops being constructed in and near the Gwinnett County-area.
