Kimberly Bond, a writer and stay-at-home mom who lives in Cumming will compete on "Jeopardy!" on Tuesday, April 18.

The show airs at 7:30 p.m. on WXIA-TV NBC.

Many people compete for a coveted spot in the country's popular and highly competitive quiz show. Roughly 125,000 people register for the annual online tests to be a contestant on "Jeopardy!," and about 60,000 or so of those people end up following through with their chosen test time. From there, a random selection of passers of this exam are later invited to participate in regional in-person auditions. Bond said being on “Jeopardy!” was a dream come true.

“It's something I've always wanted to do. My husband and I watch the show every night and played on a trivia team together while we were dating so it's something our whole family enjoys,” she said in a text.

Bond has a degree in molecular biology and practiced patent law for several years.

“It was a great experience although it was hard to be away from my daughter, who was 14 months at the time we filmed. It was the first time I was away from her overnight since she was born,” she added.

In February, Decatur resident, Westminster grad Lilly Chin won the 2017 Jeopardy College Tournament of Champions.
