Channel 2 Action News evening anchor Jovita Moore will be a host of the Sistahs in Business Expo, Saturday Sept 7.

The Sistahs in Business Expo returns to Atlanta, with “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey and financial expert Lynn Richardson set to give key note speeches Saturday.

Created to celebrate, enhance, and advance the achievements of women of color, the SIB Expo allows women of color to come together, showcase their businesses, and get exposure through community outreach, strategic networking, and vendor participation.

"Women of color are the fastest demographic of entrepreneurs in the country, but also the lowest earning," said Aisha Taylor-Issah, who launched the expo in 2017 to help women of color in business. "We want women of color to be the first point of contact where people spend their dollars."

The expo features over 75 to 100 diverse vendors, displaying both products and services and also features keynote speakers, its signature panel discussions, networking opportunities, door prizes, and more.

Taylor-Issah said  the expo, which is also held in Newark, Philadelphia and Columbia,  has drawn more than 1,200 attendees. In addition to the panel discussions and keynote speakers, attendees enjoy shopping and professional development.

"This is the country's only expo specific to entrepreneurial women of color," she said. "I wanted to create a high, quality experience at affordable rates. The experiences are full of so much support, where women are inspired and informed."

WSB-TV anchor Jovita Moore will also be a host at the event.

"I know that when a woman has a business and is an entrepreneur, part of her motivation is her passion, but another big part of her motivation, in most cases, is to support and take care of her family," Moore said. "If I can be there to assist in anyway and help a woman get closer to reaching her goals, which will ultimately help her family, that's a great thing."

Taylor-Issah's goal is to expand the expo to every major market in the country.

"You cannot be in a space like this and not get something out of it. We got a great response from the first event and knew we were really on to something," Taylor-Issah said. "There is enough space for us all. When my sister wins, we all win."

The Sistahs in Business Expo will take place Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Ambient + Studio at 585 Wells Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30312.
