A medical-surgical nursing review for practice enhancement and certification will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. This course is designed to prepare nurses to sit for professional certification examination. An application for 13 contact hours has been submitted to the Georgia Nurses Association. The American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA) will host its national fall meeting at Hilton Atlanta (255 Courtland St. N.E.). There will be an opportunity to earn 12.75 contact hours, 23 CEUs and a pharmacology credit of 345 minutes. The cost is $355 for ANNA members and $430 for nonmembers. ANNA’s Atlanta Dogwood chapter, the host chapter for the meeting, will sponsor a music and dance event for all attendees on Sept. 24. Rockdale Medical Center will hold its annual Perinatal Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop is for professionals interested in caring for obstetrical patients and their newborns. “Using What Works: Bringing Effective Caregiver Programs to Your Community” will be the focus of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving’s 2011 annual summit and training institute at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. “Moving Forward to Positive Outcomes,” the annual educational conference of the Atlanta chapter of the Case Management Society of America, will be at the Georgia International Convention Center (2000 Convention Center Concourse in College Park). The conference hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 14, and 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 15. The keynote speaker will be CMSA national president Teri Treiger. The cost is $160 for members (nonmembers, $215). Single-day rates for members are $59 (nonmembers, $89) for the first day, and $99 (nonmembers, $129) for the second day. Group rates (five or more attendees registering with one check) are $125 for both days and $89 for the second day only.
