Atlantic Station plans to offer a hotel-style concierge service to help its shopping center customers obtain anything from a restaurant recommendation to tickets for a ballgame.

The service, to debut next January, will  provide information, directions and tips about special events, and the concierge will also act as "an intermediary for services such as taxi or travel booking, theater or sports event reservations and even party or shopping spree planning," according to the center.

Atlantic Station manager, North American Properties, called the addition "the latest amenity in a series of transformative steps taken to reimagine the Midtown Atlanta center." It also cited new tenants, shops and restaurants, a new public safety initiative and improved parking. The center opened in 2005.

The concierge will be located next  to the community’s Central Park.

“A superior concierge is often an instrumental part of creating the most memorable experiences on trips to world-class cities and resorts, and we’re bringing this level or service to Atlantic Station every day,” said Mark Toro, managing partner of North American Properties, which took over leasing, management and ownership of the center in January.

"Our level of service will not be what people typically associate with a mixed-use retail center. "
