GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.
Jeff Littleton, Bainbridge
1. Who is/was the most influential person in your coaching career? "My high school head football coach, Milt Miller [at Worth County], taught me the importance of relationships and caring for players and people. My high school position coach, Randy Hill, taught me the importance of preparation and study. My mom and dad instilled in me hard work and accountability."
2. Who is the best Georgia player you ever faced? "As a player, probably Charlie Ward [of what is now called Thomas County Central]. He was elusive and very fast. As a coach, Charles Grant 1996 [Miller County]. I was an assistant at Dooly County. He was bigger and faster than any football player I had ever seen. He had 250-plus yards rushing and 15-plus tackles on defense."
3. What is the best team you ever faced as a coach? "2007 Carver Columbus. They seemed to have D-I talent at every position. No weaknesses."
4. If you were Gary Phillips, the new head of the GHSA, what would be the first rule that you would try to change? "I would like to see the semis return to the Dome. That allows more teams to compete, and it seemed to give teams and communities something to look forward to. That would allow us to also return the state championships back to hometowns."
