Two Indian cooking powerhouses are joining forces in May for a special dinner.
Food writer and cookbook author Priya Krishna will join Meherwan Irani, owner of Chai Pani in Decatur and Botiwalla in Ponce City Market (with a fortcoming location on Alpharetta) May 14 at Chai Pani for a five-course dinner celebrating the release of her new cookbook, "Indian-ish".
Krishna, who has written for The New York Times, The New Yorker and Bon Appetit, is also the author of “Ultimate Dining Hall Hacks” and previouls worked for food publication Lucky Peach.
Irani, who has been named a James Beard Award semifinalist in the Best Chef: Southeast category several times, including in 2019, owns and operates several ventures under the Chai Pani Restaurant Group umbrella, including Chai Pani Asheville, Buxton Hall Barbecue in Asheville and spice company Spicewalla. He was also named last year to TIME Magazine's list of 31 people who are changing the South.
Tickets to the May 14 event include five dishes from "Indish-ish,"one cocktail, a signed copy of the cookbook, and a Spicewalla three-pack collection.
