Budget deal includes money for stadium parking

The budget deal state lawmakers are expected to pass today includes a $17-million parking facility for the new Falcons stadium, officials said.

The budget for fiscal 2015 - which kicks in July 1 - includes $17 million in 20-year bonds for “design and construction for structured parking facilities.” Over the course of 20 years, the state would make almost $31 million in bond payments.

The money will go to provide Falcons’ stadium parking, budget officials said. It is part of an $800 million bond package lawmakers will be passing as part of the budget. Most of the money is going to school and college facilities and deepening the Savannah harbor.
