Matthew Mills told nj.com how he managed to sneak past security into MetLife Stadium and crash the Super Bowl XLVIII post-game news conference to express his belief that the terrorist attack was "perpetrated by people in our own government."

Mills interrupted a news conference by game MVP Malcolm Smith and grabbed the microphone to make his proclamation. The incident was shown on live television.

Smith, an independent journalist from Brooklyn, told nj.com he just hoped to get close to the stadium to conduct fan interviews. He used a credential from a festival he once covered and told security officials who questioned why the credential didn’t have the required barcode: “I was running late for work and I had to get in there. It was that simple.”

“I didn’t think that I’d get that far,” Mill said. “I just kept getting closer and closer. Once I got past the final gate and into the stadium, I was dumbfounded.”

Mills was quickly removed from the dais after his outburst and nj.com said he was arrested for trespassing and released on his own recognizance after a couple hours.
