“We are constantly asked about the process. Nominating someone for a star is as simple as can be!” Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said in a statement.

So here's what it takes, according to the Walk of Fame site.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce oversees the operation. To be considered, honorees must be nominated. Anyone can submit an application, from fans to studios to even entertainers. Celebrities must sign off on the nomination and must agree to attend the ceremony if selected.

The board gets about 300 submissions a year and approves 20 to 24.

Once a star is picked, the person who submitted the nomination must pay $40,000. The fee goes towards the cost of promotion, star ceremony, and future upkeep, according to the site.

For the Walk of Fame Class of 2019, the committee chose Tyler Perry, Lupita Nyong’o, Guillermo del Toro, Anne Hathaway, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Mandy Moore, Pink, Teddy Riley and several others.

No word yet on when the ceremony will take place, but take a look at the full list of honorees here.
