America is known as one of the most obese countries in the world, but what are the fattest states in America? Georgia is one of them, according to a new report from WalletHub.

The personal finance site determined its results by pulling data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Conference of State Legislatures.
Analysts then compared the 50 states and the Washington D.C. across 19 key metrics, including number of overweight adults, consumption of sugar and prevalence of preventable diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension.
Those sections were then categorized into three major categories: obesity and overweight prevalence; health consequences; and food and fitness.
Mississippi and West Virginia placed first and second, respectively, but Georgia wasn’t too far behind at No. 17. The ranking is slightly better than last year’s when The Peach State was No. 16.
However, it was still among the top 20 for 2017. It was No. 3 for food and fitness. Additionally, it was No. 14 for obesity and overweight prevalence and No. 16 for health consequences.
Overall, the South took the top spots. Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana, Alabama and South Carolina rounded out the top 10.
