Jason Regal said his friend originally found the raccoon at Keystone Lake.

"He was so little and frail and he just took him home with him and nursed him back to health," Regal said.

However, it was Regal who ultimately took home the raccoon he named Ricky.

"It just fit him. He's just a curious little raccoon," Regal said.

Despite what some may think of the wild animal, Regal said told FOX23 that Ricky is very friendly.

"He's really friendly and playful. I mean, he is just as sweet as he can be," said Regal.

He said that Ricky followed someone over to the Flying J gas station about two miles from home.

"He saw somebody walking down the road and I'm sure they pet him and he just followed right with them," Regal said.

But apparently somebody else saw Ricky, picked him up and put him in their truck. That's why Regal posted online to get him back.

"I'm trying every avenue we can," Regal said.

He said they are also using CB radios to connect with truckers to see if they have seen the raccoon.
