"He got impatient doing his normal routine to get over it and he forced his way through is the only thing I can come up with," said homeowner Mike Zollars.

Zollars said he and his neighbors have spotted the bear several times in the past few months, and he snapped photos of the animal on his screened-in porch.

"So far, just some damage, and I've been lucky to be inside on both occasions and the pets weren't outside either," said Zollars.

The damage spread to at least two homes.

"He just jumped that fence. He literally jumped the fence," said a neighbor. "I heard something that sounded like hail, but it was the bear going to the wood."

The Wekiva Park neighborhood sits in the middle of central Florida bear country.

Zollars and his neighbor said they are working to eliminate anything that would attract the animals.

"We're obviously living in their territory. A lot of development has been going on in the neighborhoods where they live. So, I think we have to adapt to living with them," said Zollars.

The neighborhood's Homeowner's Association is encouraging people to keep their trash inside to avoid more bear sightings.
