Q: Where is Bill Clinton in this election? And we haven’t heard anything from him in all this time. Where is he? What is he doing?
—Margaret Rice, Conyers
A: Clinton, who was president from 1993-2001, is becoming more involved in Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
He recently defended his wife from attacks by Donald Trump and blamed the media and Republicans in a recent televised interview for the ongoing email controversy while she was secretary of state.
“I have never seen so much expended on so little,” Clinton said in the CNN interview. “The other party doesn’t want to run against her. And if they do, they’d like her as mangled up as possible.”
He is scheduled to speak at a fundraising event in Michigan this week.
Q: Is there a reason that our area lakes, such as Lanier, are well below full despite an above average rainfall for the year? I have noticed this for some time, not just the recent dry weeks.
—Bill Brockman, Atlanta
A: Area lakes are "right on the average lake level line for this time of year," an U.S. Army Corps of Engineers spokesman told Q&A on the News in an email.
“While I am sure some areas have had average or above average rainfall, it must occur in the Chestatee River basin or Chattahoochee River basin to affect Lake Lanier,” E. Patrick Robbins wrote. “Given the below average inflows over the past three months, we are actually in good shape.”
