Q: In the last election cycle, Ashley Judd was contemplating running for Senate but did not have the support of the Democratic party because they felt she was too liberal. Has she completely stepped out of politics or is there a chance of a comeback?

—Eldridge Holland, Atlanta

A: Judd, an actress who contemplated running against Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in 2014, didn't rule out a career in politics in January 2015, but said late last year that she's focusing on other interests.

“It’s pretty clear what’s right for me at the moment is to do my advocacy across agencies and across national borders. … That seems to be, very specifically, where my calling is right now and I’m confident in that,” she told MSNBC.com in June 2015.

Five months earlier, Judd told The Hill: “I might run someday. I don’t know.”

McConnell was the Senate minority leader at the time and is now the majority leader. He defeated Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes in November 2014.

Q: Does the Masters have sound effects of birds? I realize that the sounds that we hear could be real birds, but I wonder if the Masters has bird sound effects, in addition to real birds?

—Leah Rose, Conyers

A: All sounds are natural, Augusta National Golf Club spokesman Steve Ethun told Q&A on the News in an email.

The sounds of the birds, swings and the impact on golf balls are picked up “by the course mics that are placed throughout the course,” he wrote.
