The city of Roswell has announced the recipients for more than $431,000 under the federal Community Development Block Grant program.

The money comes through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and is designed to aid low and moderate-income residents by providing decent housing and living environments and expanded economic opportunities.

The biggest recipients are:

— $86,384 to City of Roswell Administration and Planning for environmental reviews, partial funding for a grant specialist to oversee the CDBG program and various professional services.

— $104,206 to Roswell Public Works for water line repair and replacement to benefit the Grove Way community.

— $78,127 to Roswell Parks and Recreation for trail repairs and a picnic pavilion at Waller Park Extension to benefit Grove Way.

— $49,514 to the Child Development Association for engineering plans for the Bush St./Grove Way intersection and parking lot improvements.

— $31,271 to Homestretch/Housing Initiative of North Fulton for repair of existing units and potential acquisition.

The more than a dozen recipients qualified under the city’s 2015 CDBG action plan.
