A school shooting threat circulating on social media has been deemed “not credible,” Roswell High Principal Jerome Huff said in a letter to parents Wednesday afternoon.
Huff previously said he had learned of social media rumors that “a kid was going to shoot up” the school on Thursday, and that Fulton County school police and the Roswell Police Department were taking the threat seriously. The investigation, however, revealed no real threat existed, he said.
“After today’s thorough investigation, I am happy to inform you that the rumor is not credible,” Huff wrote in his afternoon letter. “The student responsible for spreading the rumor will be disciplined according to the student code of conduct.”
There was an increased police presence at Roswell High on Wednesday, but Huff said it was a “normal” school day.
