A man was shot and a 10-year-old girl suffered a graze wound Sunday when gunfire broke out at a DeKalb County cookout.

The shooting happened on Scarbrough Drive off Covington Highway.

DeKalb police told Channel 2 Action News that a 24-year-old man was standing outside a car in the street when a group of people he had been fighting drove by firing shots.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Channel 2 reported that a stray bullet pierced the wall of a nearby home and grazed the ankle of a 10-year-old girl inside the house.

The names of the man and girl have not been released.

Police have made no arrests.
