The Battery will be much “Stranger” on Oct. 28.
That's when there will be a "Stranger Things"-themed Halloween party, said the group that runs the mixed-use complex outside the Braves' new SunTrust Park.
No, this isn’t the Upside Down.
There will be a scavenger hunt bar crawl throughout Live! at The Battery based on the Atlanta-filmed Netflix show along with several costume contests.
The event costs $5 and is for folks 21 and older. The doors open at 8 p.m., and official festivities start an hour later.
The person with the best “Stranger Things” costume will win a round-trip, domestic flight from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
The first-place prize of the solo, dress-up-as-anything contest is $5,000.
The super-specific rules document for the contest says get-ups will be judged equally on originality, creativity and difficulty. After that, you win by "judges' measurement of crowd applause noise level." Very official.
Second-place solo costumes bring in $1,000. But there are other prizes in play.
The group with the best costumer will win a party at Sports & Social valued at $1,000. And the duo with the best costume wins two New Year’s Eve VIP tickets to Todd English Tavern valued at $250.
For those who don't care about the show, there will also be a waffle bar and drinks in Todd English Tavern, a light show in Sports & Social, and a black light party in PBR Atlanta, according to the Facebook event.
