There’s no shortage of things to do in Cobb County this weekend.

We've narrowed down the list of ways to spend your weekend to happenings—  ranging from self-defense classes to comedy shows— that will make a weekend in Cobb memorable.

Fierce & Fabulous Self-Defense: This self-defense class, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, will condition participants to be alert and aware in any dangerous situations. You'll also get active by learning basic strikes, blocks and kicks to defend yourself from a potential attacker .

The class will take place at Taylor-Brawner Park, 3180 Atlanta Road. General admission is $35.

Jerry Farber & Josh Harris Music with Johnny Porrazzo: Given the recent news headlines, it's understandable if you're in desperate need for a light-hearted night out. Atlanta-based comedian Jerry Farber plans on doing just that at his stand-up comedy act starting at 8 p.m. Friday, July 15.

The show will be hosted at Cosmopolitan Live!, on 2475 Delk Road Southeast, Smyrna. Tickets are $15.

Railroad Rendezvous: If you're a history buff, you may want to check this out this family-friendly event from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw,. The day is scheduled with fun opportunities for families to learn about different railroad jobs, such as conductors, gandy dancers and porters.

USA Climbing Sport and Speed Youth National Championships. Kennesaw's Stone Summit Climbing & Fitness Center will once again host the USA Climbing Sport & Speed Youth National Championship on July 14-17. The event is open to the public.
