After much debate, the Snellville City Council approved a request by Vineyard Chapel International to locate a church in the Fountain Square Shopping Center, 2110 McGee Road, Suite 2126.
While not opposed to the church itself, the city council voiced concern about allowing another church in vacant retail space. Fountain Square Shopping Center is zoned for general business and abuts professional office buildings and an assisted living facility to the north, an office condominium park to the east, Fountain Square Business Center and mixed retail uses to the south, and South Gwinnett Park (South Gwinnett Athletic Association) to the west.
The conditional use permit was approved with conditions, including restrictions on the size of any new signage.
